One Nation, One People!

By Starla Muhammad Managing Editor

DETROIT—The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam are no strangers in the fight for the freedom and liberation of Black people in the United States and abroad.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan delivers keynote address June 22 at 30th Annual N’COBRA Convention in Detroit.

Theirs is a proven track record of consistent and tireless dedication, work and sacrifice in the face of vehement opposition and attacks from those frightened by the rise of Black people or still psychologically and emotionally wedded to their oppressors.

Yet in this critical time Blacks must understand what freedom looks like, how they must be repaired inwardly, what reparations truly means and how inordinate ego and vanity of leadership is the worst enemy of the rise of Black people, the Minister told a packed audience at Bert’s Marketplace during a critical June 22 message as part of the 30th Annual National Convention for the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (N’COBRA) held in Detroit.

Black people are the Original People of the planet and from them came all others so in this hour of death, destruction and confusion, the resurrection of the Black man and woman of America and the world is a necessity, said Min. Farrakhan.

“Until we are resurrected, meaning brought back to our original state and place, the nations of the earth will not find order. The order comes from justice,” the Minister explained in his opening remarks. Delving into scripture, Min. Farrakhan pointed to the book of Revelations in the Bible where an angel is riding on a black horse and it was justice.

“When we are purified from our 400-year sojourn under an enemy then we can purify everything else that came from us. Then it will be one world again and peace will reign because the Black man is awake, is resurrected, is restored, is repaired and is back on his post as the Original Man, the Cream of the planet earth and the absolute God of the Universe.”

This year’s N’COBRA convention came as part of a national debate on reparations for Black people in America who are the descendants of kidnapped and enslaved Africans. In addition, Blacks have been subjected to centuries of government sponsored terrorism, torture, oppression and the systematic dismantling of an entire people whose progeny suffer from these historic and current wrongs.

Full repair and freedom for Black people is needed but it will not come at the hands of the enemy of Black people, the Minister explained throughout his message.

As a longtime friend and ally of Black Nationalist and Pan-African liberation activists and groups, it was fitting that Min. Farrakhan delivered the keynote address at N’COBRA in Detroit, birthplace of the Nation of Islam, the Republic of New Afrika, Shrine of the Black Madonna and home to many Black and African-centered cultural and ideological movements and luminaries.

Min. Farrakhan expressed his gratitude and respect to those who fight for freedom despite pushback from some Blacks who do not understand what rightfully belongs to them or do not understand who they are.

He thanked N’COBRA for keeping the idea of reparations and reparatory justice front and center for the last three decades.

“I thank God for N’COBRA. I thank God for the movement of Black nationalism, Pan-Africanism. I thank God for all of us who struggle under different names. But every organization has value and only tribalism will keep us from seeing the value of one another.”

Think for the whole

The Black nationalist community protected Min. Farrakhan during his early work in rebuilding the Nation of Islam after the departure of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in 1975 and the subsequent fall of the Muslim movement.

During his introduction of Min. Farrakhan, Dr. Conrad Worrill, former chairman of the National Black United Front (NBUF) and a longtime comrade and friend, shared how Min. Farrakhan personally backed struggling Black organizations and leaders not just in words, but by his actions. Min. Farrakhan financially supported Rev. Jesse Jackson during his 1984 presidential campaign, N’COBRA, NBUF, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and many others. During his message the Minister also paid honor and homage to freedom fighters in the Black reparation’s movement in the United States such as Imari Obadele, Queen Mother Audley Moore, “Reparations” Ray Jenkins and others.

Activists from around the country attended N’COBRA’s 30th Annual Convention in Detroit.

“So what Dr. Conrad Worrill said of the Minister in secret and in the open supporting everybody who struggles to give justice to the Black man and woman of America: ‘Why do you do that when their philosophy is not religious or they are not Muslims or they are not this or that?’” asked Min. Farrakhan rhetorically. “It does not matter. What does matter is that we are a suffering people and we cannot afford the luxury any longer of feeding the divisions, the tribal manifestations of slavery and neo-colonialism and colonialism. We have to see all of us who struggle as one nation, one people, one great objective—total liberation of every Black man, woman and child on our planet!” he noted.

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhamad, patriarch of the Nation of Islam and Min. Farrakhan’s teacher, instructed his star pupil to “think and speak for the whole.”

Do not just think for those that are Muslim, nationalists or engaged in civil rights work, his teacher instructed him. “Think for the whole; no matter who they are, no matter what they are, no matter where they are, think for them. Stand for them, work for them, live for them and when you can’t live anymore, die on behalf of your people!” the Minister stated emphatically.

“To the members of the Nation of Islam, we wouldn’t be here today if it were not for the nationalists that came to my side and our side when we started our rebuilding efforts. We wouldn’t be here today were it not for the African American Patrolmen League and the Black police that had nationally organized and before there was an FOI (Fruit of Islam, the men of the Nation of Islam). They guarded me in every city into which we went to bring back the Nation of Islam,” he explained. There were Christian pastors who stood with him and the Nation in those early years, the Minister continued.

“We have to be for all or be for nothing or we will always be behind until or unless we act and think for the whole of our people.”

Min. Farrakhan shared with the audience his recent trip to Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Holy cities of Mecca and Madinah. The Muslim world does not have a champion and practically all leadership has been co-opted, he continued.

“But there’s a free Black man (who) is unbought, has not and will not bow to the forces that control this world. I have been a consistent Black man on this battlefield ever since I became conscious 64 years ago.”

Vanity is a detriment to the unity and progress of Black people. Blacks in leadership must be true to the principles of love in order to be an effective catalyst in the healing of their people.

“Love is the only force that will put errant ego to rest,” said Min. Farrakhan.

Black people must be made new

Dr. Leonard Jeffries (second from right) and his wife (third from right) were among many freedom fighters and luminaries that attended the Minister’s keynote message at Bert’s Marketplace.

Elijah Muhammad introduced The Muslim Program which appears on the inside back page of The Final Call newspaper and prior to that on the back page of Muhammad Speaks newspaper in the 1960s and 1970s. The nature of Black people is to be upright, not to be thieves and liars, said the Minister.

“You were under thieves and liars for over 400 years and they made us into themselves. So, when you look at Black people, you’re looking at a creature, made devils. That’s what the enemy is. He could not make you righteous because righteousness is not a part of his nature,” he said.

The White man can only make us what he is and when you look at Black people today, you are looking at a people made in America, the 86-year-old Muslim leader explained.

You can’t say that you want reparations and think it’s money but reparations must repair our broken minds, corrupt souls and bring us new again, he continued.

Reparations must start with Black people accepting the nature of who they are, doing right and wanting for your brother and sister what you want for yourself, the Minister explained. If we fail to do that, then Black people will always be struggling for concepts that we can’t figure out, he warned.

Min. Farrakhan expounded upon the first three points of “What The Muslims Want” of The Muslim Program and asked the audience if they agreed with those salient points.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said “we want freedom, a full and complete freedom.” “N’COBRA don’t you want that? And the NAACP don’t you want that? The Shrine of the Black Madonna don’t you want that? Whatever church you belong to, you want a full and complete freedom?” Min. Farrakhan asked.

“In nature, freedom allows a creature to grow to its fullest, reproduce itself and die. We have never been allowed to grow to the fullest manifestation of who we are. There’s always a Caucasian reality and a wicked system that is at the head of your desire to rise.”

Min. Farrakhan spoke on the critical need for unity among Black people and thanked the Pan African / Black Nationalist community for their continued work in the fight for reparations.

The White man and his system cannot repair the damage he has inflicted on Black people. The repair can only come from God.

The Minister bluntly addressed naysayers who accuse him of “selling out” to the Church of Scientology for money. “If I was paid for by others, they would have a string over me. You don’t see no string! The string that you can’t see is the string that God has on me. I owe nobody nothing. I don’t borrow money, I don’t steal, I don’t lie. If I tell you I’m going to do something I try my best to do it because I’m a new Black man!” Min. Farrakhan. He added that he sleeps well knowing he has injured no one. “I’m what you’re looking for! I’m a fully repaired Black man!” he said.

Reparations means land

Some Blacks cannot stand the thought of being divorced from White people and don’t think they can live without them, explained Min. Farrakhan. The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad continuously preached separation as the best and only solution for Black people in America.

“We really need to be separated from this enemy. That’s a hard decision for us to make. For all of you that feel you can change them, do it! But there are those of us who know better because we know the nature of the people that we’ve been living under because God has revealed it to us. They owe us big time!”

Obtaining land is the key. Min. Farrakhan recalled a man who helped the Honorable Elijah Muhammad obtain farmland in Alabama. The man took the Minister to the side and explained to him how Black people can begin to take over states if Blacks who once lived there returned and those that are there now got the right to vote.

“Imari Obadele and the Republic of New Afrika went South and claimed five states. He understood what justice looks like. Don’t ask the White man for money and a White woman,” said Min. Farrakhan. If Blacks were separated in their own nation, they could advance their agenda and way of life including educating their children properly.

“I’m saying to those who love reparations, to those who love justice, let’s mark out some states. Make Mississippi one. When we become the power in all those states, we’ve got enough lawyers to make judges. We’ve got enough intelligent Black people to run state legislatures, become appellate court justices, state supreme court justices. When you run the state politically then you have a chance to run it economically. The federal government’s got to give us some money.”

A man on point

“This is a wonderful, historic moment and I love the fact that the Minister talked about self-repair,” said Zoe Franklin, a member of N’COBRA. She traveled from Chicago to attend the conference. “How can we expect your enemy to heal you from the damage that they’ve caused not just for a day but for centuries on end? He also talked about how we need to come together regardless of what tribe we belong to, what our religion is and what types of orientations or disorientations that we might ascribe to, I thought that was extremely important,” noted Ms. Franklin.

Naimah Singh is a recently retired educator with the Detroit Public Schools. What stood out to her from what Min. Farrakhan shared was the reality that there is “no changing this system.”

“We as Black people have to make that change and reparations is totally due to us for we built this country. We have given song, we have given education, we have given our hard labor and technically, America is Africa—this is our land. You are nothing without the land and the Minister spoke on the importance of purchasing the land. We could be sovereign and whole and independent, and I thank Elijah Muhammad for coming to the city of Detroit and being the first Black man to teach independence, entrepreneurship and sovereignty,” said Ms. Singh.

Longtime Pan-African educator and author Dr. Leonard Jeffries said Min. Farrakhan’s direction and guidance to Black people has always been timely and his keynote message to N’COBRA solidifies that in his view.

“The Minister has always been timely since I’ve known him over these years. We needed him at this moment when reparations is the hot item in the Congress, in the media, in these new people running for the leadership of the government. We’ve been on that for a long time, this organization (N’COBRA) for 30 years but we’ve been trying to deal with it over several hundred years and so now is the time for clarity and the Minister brings so much clarity because he’s been through so much,” Dr. Jeffries told The Final Call. He stated he and his wife are grateful for Min. Farrakhan not only for his track-record of work for Black people but for his personal help and support through the years when they needed it.

“He doesn’t live in the beyond, he lives in the now preparing the future. He is a man on mission, a man on point, a man who can raise in the same breath the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and our great warrior Malcolm X. He lived them, he lived them back in the day, he lives them today. He can bring them as he has alive for us, so we understand confusion and conflict. But we have to find unity,” said Dr. Jeffries. “The Minister’s message behind it all is you’ve got to have a plan. We’ve tried many things that have not worked so then don’t go back to that which didn’t work! Make and create a world anew, you have the capability. We are in a period of resurrection and rise.”

Is U.S. marching steadily to war with Iran?

WASHINGTON—President Donald J. Trump seems to want war with Iran. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is beating the drum for war with Iran. National Security Adviser John Bolton is itching for war with Iran. Together they are orchestrating an all-too-familiar scenario to justify the use of U.S. military force against the Islamic Republic.

In 1846 U.S. forces falsely claimed they were attacked by Mexican forces inside U.S. territory. In retaliation the U.S. launched the Mexican-American War, seizing land from New Mexico to California, to Colorado, even to Utah.

Have we forgotten the suspicious sinking of the USS Maine, the Navy ship which went down in the Havana Harbor in 1898, dragging the U.S. into the Spanish-American War?

In 1962 a Pentagon plan called "Operation Northwoods" was hatched for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to commit acts of terrorism against U.S. civilians to be blamed on Cuba, in order to justify an invasion of that country. In 1964 the White House committed “material misrepresentations” of the truth of what was known as the “Gulf of Tonkin Incident” in order to goad Congress into authorizing war with Vietnam. And of course the convincing dramatizations of “Yellow Cake Uranium” and non-existent “weapons of mass destruction” were used to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.

The Trump administration is now stoking fear of a potential conflict with Iran. The president withdrew from the landmark Iran nuclear deal—the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action—in May 2018. More recently, National Security Adviser John Bolton asked the Pentagon to provide the White House with military options to strike Iran.

In the latest incident, the Secretary of State said Iran was be- hind the attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman June 13, implicating the nation in the second set of attacks on tankers in the region in two months. U.S. Central Command even released a video it says shows Iran removing an unexploded mine from one of the tankers it’s accused of attacking.

But the Japanese owner of the ship that was damaged denied that it was struck by mines as the U.S. claims, insisting instead that it was hit by “flying objects.” Yutaka Katada, president of the Kokuka Sangyo shipping firm that owns the Kokuka Courageous tanker, told reporters in Tokyo June 14: “The crew are saying it was hit with a flying object. They say something came flying toward them, then there was an explosion, then there was a hole in the vessel. Then some crew witnessed a second shot.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the United States had “immediately jumped to make allegations against Iran—(without) a shred of factual or circumstantial evidence,” and he accused the Trump White House of “economic terror- ism” and “sabotage diplomacy,” according to published reports.

“So it’s apparent that the Unit- ed States is trying to execute a false flag operation and to throw dust in the eyes of international communities and make the inter- national community feel that the Iranians are the aggressors when in fact it’s Washington that’s the aggressor,” Dr. Gerald Horne, professor of history and African American studies at the University of Houston said in an interview.

The U.S. lust for war is because U.S. interests and allies are suffering, while Iran is making gains in the region, according to Dr. Horne. The U.S. invasion of Iraq has made that country even more dependent on Iran for everything from electricity to security. And U.S. ally Saudi Arabia is fighting a costly and bloody war against rebels in Yemen who enjoy Iranian support.

“Interestingly enough, be- cause of Mr. Trump pulling out of the (Iranian) nuclear deal, the EU 3—Germany, Britain, and France—are trying to set up a special purpose vehicle to circum- vent U.S. sanctions,” Dr. Horne said, “which will then be a threat to the dollar, which is now under siege not only because of the EU 3 but also because of Russia (and) China preparing to conduct trade without the dollar.”

A war, Mr. Trump may be estimating, could “rescue” him politically, and inject more money into the Pentagon. The U.S. “war strategy” was revealed by Reps. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) after a House Armed Services Committee meeting and confirmed to The Intercept by Rep. Gabbard. “We were all in that meeting with Pompeo where those statements were made,” Ms. Gabbard said.

The Trump administration is prepared to wage the war against Iran without congressional authorization, based on the notion that the “Authorization for the Use of Military Force” approved by Congress in 2001 after 9/11 can be applied to Iran, through that country’s purported links to Al Qaeda.

Democratic House members and senators, and a host of presidential candidates condemned the president’s saber rattling. “If the administration wants to go to war against Iran, then the Constitution requires them to come to Congress to ask for an authorization for the use of military force,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a presidential candidate told reporters.

“This is Constitutional Law 101, that it is Congress, not the president, that declares war,” Sen. Warren, a former law professor, continued. “We would have to have a debate on the floor of the Senate. And if the administration doesn’t believe that they can with- stand a debate, then they shouldn’t be aiming themselves toward war.”

President Trump told an interviewer on June 13 that “Iran did do it.” In response, presidential candidate and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) told reporters: “Attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman are unacceptable and must be fully investigated. But this incident must not be used as a pretext for a war with Iran, a war which would be an unmitigated disaster for the United States, Iran, the region and the world.

“The time is now for the United States to exert international leadership and bring the countries in the region together to forge a diplomatic solution to the growing tensions. I would also remind President Trump that there is no congressional authorization for a war with Iran. A unilateral U.S. attack on Iran would be illegal and unconstitutional.”

A Special Visit to MECCA: Min. Farrakhan, Nation of Islam delegation embark on historic pilgrimage to Islam’s holiest cities

By Nisa Islam Muhammad | Staff Writer | @nisaislam |

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and a delegation from the Nation of Islam concluded Ramadan with an historic “Umrah,” or pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city in Islam, at the invitation of the King Salman of Saudi Arabia.

Ramadan is the annual Muslim holy month of fasting and prayers which ended for many on June 4 with the sighting of the new moon. It is a very special time of year and celebrates the revelation of the Holy Qur’an given to Prophet Muhammad of Arabia (Peace Be Upon Him) 1,400 years ago.

“To be in the birthplace of Islam, it is this city, that is at the root of the civilization on our planet. For us after 42 years, Brother (Abdul Akbar Muhammad) and myself coming back to what we call home, it is from this city that knowledge and wisdom of the original man first started, when this planet was found in this new orbit 66 trillion years ago according to the teachings of our great and masterful teacher the Honorable Elijah Muhammad,” Minister Farrakhan said via telephone on the Ramadan Prayerline June 4, from Mecca, Saudi Arabia, as thousands listened live from all around the world. The prayer line is an annual event sponsored by Muslims in the Nation of Islam, which features daily pre-dawn teleconference calls and speakers from different Islamic communities during Ramadan.

“For us, a delegation of 17 to start in Madinah, the city of the Prophet, at his masjid and to see how that masjid, that started with the hijra (flight of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, from Mecca to Madinah to escape religious persecution) as he set foot in Madinah and when he put his foot down, this is where his mosque would be, there was nothing there but stone at the time and now here we are, at the most beautiful city. In my life, this is the most beautiful city that I call home,” said Min. Farrakhan.

He added, “Though I was born in New York and raised in Boston, Mecca is our home and so we are back home and I don’t know of a better place to be during Ramadan and during the last 10 nights of Ramadan. We were in Madinah and now in Mecca. We spent Laylatul Qadar (the night the Qur’an was revealed), the Night of Power, in Mecca. That same night we made Umrah, they said that 2.5 million people were in Mecca. We were guests of the king. We were blessed in a most special way to make Umrah and run between the two hills (Safwa and Marwa).”

During Ramadan Minister Farrakhan said to his friend and longtime confidant Abdul Akbar Muhammad that he wanted to make Umrah during the last 10 days of the month. The significance of performing Umrah during Ramadan is that the reward is the same as if one performs Hajj, which is a visit to Mecca and the Kaaba, the Holy House of Islam, that every Muslim must perform in their lifetime if possible.

This tradition traces all the way back to Prophet Muhammad. Ibn ‘Abbaas, an early Qur’an scholar narrated, “When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, returned after performing Hajj (major pilgrimage), he asked Umm Sinaan Al-Ansaariyyah, ‘Why did you not perform Hajj?’ She replied, ‘The father of so-and-so [i.e., her husband] had two camels and he went on pilgrimage on one of them, and the second is used for the irrigation of our land.’ The Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, said to her: ‘An ‘Umrah (minor pilgrimage) in Ramadan is akin to Hajj with me (in terms of reward).’ ” According to another narration, the Prophet told the woman: “When Ramadan comes, do ‘Umrah as (the reward for) it then is equivalent to Hajj.”

Umrah during Ramadan does not remove the obligation of performing Hajj, but confers the same benefit.

“When Minister Farrakhan said to me he wanted to make Umrah, I called Imam Abdul Malik and he sent a letter to the Saudi ambassador who sent a letter to the King’s office. Four days later we had visas as guests of the king,” Min. Akbar Muhammad told The Final Call.

“I was here 42 years ago with Minister Farrakhan. To return again, it’s like a new Mecca. There have been tremendous renovations, new hotels. When we were here before most people stayed in tents. The king has spared no expense. Now people come on a beautiful spiritual journey to the Kaaba and the Haram. It has been a great trip and great experience for Minister Farrakhan’s delegation. We have been so moved by what we have seen in Madinah and Mecca.”

He added, “Imam Abdul Malik found an old friend from the Nation of Islam who lives here. He was a 1,000 paper seller. He’s now 70 years old. It was so good to see him.”

The delegation traveled from Dubai to the Saudi Arabian cities of Madinah, Mecca, Jeddah and to Riyadh. They share their experiences below:

Imam Abdul Malik: “Mecca, a love story never written yet etched in my heart. She whispers my name to the winds of time into the heart of a man that became her voice. Upon hearing her request to see my soul I said, ‘labaak, I am here at your call.’ Upon entering her sanctuary she penetrated my heart and tears flowed from my eyes. I never knew Mecca was my love. Her hosts were extremely gentle and kind. In 25 years since the last time we embraced our reunion was a bond unbroken.”

Ishmael Muhammad, student national assistant to Minister Farrakhan: “Words are insufficient to express my deep gratitude to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for inviting me to accompany him to visit the two holiest places of Islam, Mecca and Madinah. What a blessing, honor and privilege. This has been an extraordinary life fulfilling experience; one that has been etched in my heart and my memory forever. The trip has inspired and strengthened me to continue my help of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in the mission of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. We are grateful and have so much to share and we look forward to sharing this blessing with our Nation.”

Mustapha Farrakhan, student Supreme Captain of the Nation of Islam: “I am deeply thankful and grateful to Almighty God Allah for the privilege of being given the opportunity to travel beside I would say, to get personal, my father. I don’t know when the time will come where he’s no longer among us physically; but I am a member of the team that was selected to travel with our Beloved. I’m so eternally grateful to Allah and His Christ for the opportunity to rededicate my life in the service of the rise of my people for their total and complete liberation. I believe that this trip to the Holy Land as Master Fard Muhammad teaches us in our Lessons when he says, ‘We put them out of the worst part and kept the Best Part preserved for ourselves ever since we made it. And the Best Part is in Arabia at the Holy City of Mecca.’

“Those short words have a treasure of wisdom buried deep in within, what Allah preserved in this area of the world, in this city in particular, I believe is still preserved. But we are blessed, so very blessed, to have with us Allah’s servant in our midst to show us, once again, the importance of the unity of us as the Nation and the broader unity of the Muslim Ummah all over the world.

“It is imperative as Muslims that we find a way to the path of unity among ourselves to preserve what Allah has blessed our world of Islam to build. I thank Allah that we’re traveling with one that has that authority from Allah and His Christ, to be the example of how to take those characteristics that come up in the hearts of men, envy and jealousy, to show us how to be selfless as brothers.

“The Minister loves the world of Islam. He loves this city. He loves this kingdom. And, he also loves our brothers in Iran, and he loves Muslims in general. He can be, of course, at times, critical but he always does it from the spirit of love and you have to be very skillful and wise how to make a critique without destroying. There are a lot of Muslims in the world that do not have the understanding of the Qur’an and of the human being that would allow them to be the vessel that Almighty God Allah has made the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. He is a very unique and special human being, to say the least, on how he was made for this particular mission.

“When the unity of the Muslim world comes together, there is no power on this earth that can stop Islam and there is no power on this earth that could stop this great movement. It would transform the whole entire planet into a masjid or a mosque.

“What they have done with the two holy mosques in Madinah and Mecca is absolutely phenomenal; and it would make anyone who calls himself a Believer in Islam proud. Everywhere you look, you see progress and the thought that comes up in my mind is that the enemy of Islam would love for this to be destroyed. So those of us that are in leadership have to guard ourselves against those characteristics that will cause us to implode as a Nation which is envy.

“We have to be very careful of how we are in our thinking and try our best to keep purifying and cleansing our hearts of vain imaginations of who we may think we are and try to serve the best we can while we have a little time left to serve. I would use that Qur’anic verse, ‘When we were on the brink of a pit of fire,’ the Minister is helping to unite our hearts in the Nation and in the Muslim World.”

Imam Sultan Muhammad, national imam of the Nation of Islam: “Words cannot express the honor and privilege to accompany the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan to perform Umrah during the last 10 days of the Holy month of Ramadan.

“It was a blessing beyond words to have the privilege to visit the two most sacred sites of Islam, the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah and The Haram in Mecca to perform Umrah during the last nights of The Month of Ramadan with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Although, I have been blessed to make this journey before with my father and family, to now have the enormous favor to walk in the steps of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and Master Fard Muhammad with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan these sacred signs of Allah have been unveiled.”

Sa’ad Alim Muhammad, formerly, Berve Muhammad, student National Secretary of the Nation of Islam: “All praise is due to Allah for the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

“I am grateful to have had an opportunity to accompany the servant of Allah in our midst on this pilgrimage to the Holiest sites in Islam.

“Our journey first took us to Madinah, to Mecca and to Jeddah. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims congregated every day for every prayer. Many of them walked for miles to perform salat (prayer). Afterwards, many of them walked back home only to walk back a few hours later for the next prayer. That level of commitment to the daily worship of Allah was impactful to say the least. Tens of thousands prayed outside in over 100 degree temperatures on the concrete ground if there was no space inside the buildings. They did not complain and some even chose that as their preferred place of worship. There was no excuse to not perform prayer that outweighed their intention to make prayer.

“I am looking out of my hotel room, I am able to see thousands of Muslims walking toward the Kaaba and it is 2 a.m.! The Kabah never closes because there are always thousands of worshippers ready, willing and able to pray to Allah for guidance, protection and forgiveness.

“In addition, while interacting with the throngs of people, I never heard an argument, I never saw a fight and I never saw anyone have their goods stolen. The stores closed for prayer and some of the merchants only had a sheet covering their products. These Muslims showed respect for each other as an indication of their respect for a fellow Believer.

“Every room in our hotel contained a speaker system that played every prayer service from the Kaaba. Beholding the Kaaba for the first time was an experience that words cannot describe. It was like looking at something that was not real, even though it was. It had almost a magical and mystical aura about it upon first sight. Here was a holy site, thousands of years old and we were blessed to be gazing upon it to begin our Umrah. All praise is due to Allah!

“I thank the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for embarking upon such a wonderful journey here in the holiest of Islamic sites. He is our Light in the midst of darkness and our Guide in the wilderness. His love for and faith in his Teacher, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, is the reason why I and many of you are able to call ourselves Muslims!”

Naeemah Muhammad, formerly Sandy Muhammad, student National MGT Captain of the Nation of Islam: “Words are insufficient to express my deepest gratitude to Allah for blessing me with one of the greatest life-altering events in my life. How wonderful it is to be blessed to walk with Jesus and travel to the Best Part of the planet Earth, the Holy City Mecca. The most memorable part has been to have the opportunity to perform Umrah with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, all while having a knowledge and understanding of Allah, Who intervened in our affairs in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad; a knowledge of the Exalted Christ, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad; and a knowledge of the modern day Jesus in our midst, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Praise be to Allah!

“How awe inspiring it was to witness millions of people from all over the globe merging to one central point, the Kaaba, for one singular purpose and that is to worship Almighty God, Allah. I felt the overwhelming presence of Almighty God upon seeing the Kaaba, and it was even more overwhelming to know that the Kaaba is a sign of what we know to be true and have been given. It is a sign of Someone greater.

“In addition to our beautiful experience in Mecca, we have been blessed to travel to the holy city Madinah and visit the Prophet’s mosque and pray; visit the tomb of the Prophet and the houses of the Mothers of the Faithful; climb up the mountain of Nur in the Holy City Mecca to see the Prophet’s cave; travel to Jeddah and go on the Red Sea. To have done all of this with the knowledge, wisdom and understanding that we have been given in the Nation of Islam is truly emotionally and spiritually overwhelming. It will take me some time to fully process and understand the deep spiritual significance of this trip. I am so humbled and will be forever grateful to Allah and the Exalted Christ for the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Praise be to Allah!”

Aminah Bayyinah Muhammad, formerly Kimberly Muhammad, administrative assistant to Minister Farrakhan: “I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to make this journey as a part of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s delegation to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I never dreamed that I would have the privilege to witness the pages of the Holy Qur’an come to life as I walked in the places I’ve often read about. To be in the birthplace of Master Fard Muhammad and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is an overwhelmingly beautiful experience I never thought I would have.”

Abdul Khalil Muhammad, formerly Darrell Muhammad, personal staff for Min. Farrakhan: “First, I would like to thank Allah for allowing me to step foot in these two holy places (Mecca and Madinah.) All praise is due to Allah. I pray that He accepted my prayers and intentions so that I may return being a better Muslim and helper in the cause of Islam. I thank the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for choosing me to take part in THE ultimate Islamic experience with HIM and making my Umrah, which was life changing for me. Seeing those blessed to be a part praying, experiencing, happy and in love with Islam was a beautiful sight.

“The bond that we shared over there as Believers in the Nation of Islam was a sign and confirmation for me that we will be ok if we strive to be disciplined Muslims under the leadership of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad because He has given us all that we need. I am truly grateful because this was the best gift of my life and again I thank our Brother Minister. And along with that gift was being given the knowledge and understanding of what this ritual meant and soon the whole world will know. Allah U Akbar! We will be blessed in so many ways if we continue to hold on to our faith because we are fighting for Islam and we will surely win. Alhamdulillah!”

Abdul Siddiq Muhammad, formerly Melvin Muhammad, personal staff for Min. Farrakhan: “First, I would like to thank Allah for inspiring the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan to take this trip and this journey, making Umrah in the Holy City of Mecca and Madinah. I would like to thank the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for having it in his heart to include me in this delegation.

“This trip has been a life changing experience that has been enormously impactful on my life as a follower of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and a student and helper of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. This journey seems to be the commencement, or the start or beginning of a marriage between us in America, students of the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and students of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, to the Muslim World in the East, the home of our Founder and Saviour, Master W. Fard Muhammad. We have been so well received by the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We have never felt so warmly received as we have on this journey. It takes me to the Supreme Wisdom Lessons, Problem Book, Number 32: ‘Twelve Leaders of Islam from all over the Planet have conferred in the Root of Civilization concerning the Lost-Found Nation of Islam - must return to their original Land.

‘One of the Conference Members by the name of Mr. Osman Sharrieff said to the Eleven Members of the Conference:

‘The Lost-Found Nation of Islam will not return to their original Land unless they, first, have a thorough Knowledge of their own.’

‘So, they sent a Messenger to them of their own.’

“In my heart, I believe that on this journey, that is being accomplished on both sides. I am eternally grateful to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for the manner and the way he has guided us to tie us back unto our own, as with the care of a mother guiding her child through a very dangerous period in time. The spirit coming from us to them, those we met of the Muslim World in the East, and from them to us, is like the spirit of a newly formed union.

“My faith has been impacted so thoroughly by what I have witnessed, what is in our Lessons and what we have been taught by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. I am so firm and convicted in my faith in The God that came to us, Master Fard Muhammad, and His Christ, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and His servant, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. My spirit has been quickened. I have been rejuvenated and I am ready to further our work in this mission as a helper to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. My feet are more firm today than they have ever been. I’m ready to further this work in America, the work and mission given to us by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

‘Don’t tell her that there was no one to teach for three hundred and seventy-seven years. She already knows and is trying to forget it. Now, she will teach you quickly any course you may desire.’ The Supreme Wisdom Lessons, Problem Book Number 12.

“I am eternally grateful for the way of devotion that has been given to us in America by Our Saviour, Master W.D. Fard Muhammad, and His Christ, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and His Servant, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. During this trip, I have also grown in greater respect of the culture and way of devotion of our Muslim brothers in the East.

“May Allah continue to bless us all to work tirelessly as helpers in this cause of the redemption and the resurrection of the Black man and woman in America, and humanity around the world.”

Haqq Muhammad, formerly Robert E. Muhammad, Final Call video crew: “It’s been an honor for me to be asked to make this Journey with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. There are many Believers that have labored longer and harder in service to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan than I. I feel a solemn responsibility to share what I’ve seen and felt with those back in the States.

“The most meaningful experience for me was making Umrah with the Minister and the rest of the delegation. I made Umrah 21 years ago, but I was a young Believer. This was far more meaningful to me. I saw and understood so much more now than I did then. And to perform this awesome ritual with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and fellow students of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad made it so much more meaningful. I pray every Believer in the NOI has the opportunity to journey here.

“Standing outside of Al-Haram was a humbling experience. I was reminded of the universality of our faith. People of all colors and nationalities face this same place and pray to the One God every day. And now all of us have made our way here and are worshipping together in one place.”

Hassan Muhammad, Final Call video crew: “Just being with the Minister in the Holy Places was the high point of the visit for me. His discourses with us and to our hosts and his way, made the visit everything for me.”

Abdul Aziz Muhammad, formerly Anthony Muhammad, assistant student Supreme Captain of the Nation of Islam: “I thank Almighty God Allah for blessing me with life, and being present here in this Glorious Holy City of Mecca. I love the fact that everyone you meet and see are Believers that love Allah and his way. The people walk for miles to just pray.

“As I think about their beauty and commitment, I am humbled and grateful. I am grateful to be in the presence of millions of Believers which makes me to reflect on the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and his Love. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan nurtured me with and through my mother, Sister Rosetta Muhammad. The Minister’s reflection is what I recognize most when I see and meet these Muslims. This trip makes me to want to work harder so I can be one like the Minister who submits his will to do the will of Allah. I commit my life in the cause of Islam. I am most grateful for Allah loving me so much that He blessed me to be raised under the teachings of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam.”

Abdul Wazir Muhammad, formerly Donald Muhammad, personal staff for Min. Farrakhan: “Out of all my travels with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, this trip was absolutely the most impactful. As a Muslim we are taught that we should visit the Holy City of Mecca at least once in our lifetime, but never could I have imagined how spiritually rewarding this trip would be. Praying throughout the night in the Prophet’s Mosque in the Holy City of Madinah, traveling by car with a police escort to the birthplace of Master Fard Muhammad—the Holy City of Mecca, then making Umrah with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is an experience that I will carry in my heart for the rest of my life.

“I am so thankful to Allah for being chosen as part of this delegation of brothers and sisters. The love that we have experienced from each other in addition to the brothers who were assigned as our hosts was simply beautiful. This experience has increased my ability to bear witness to the teaching and training we receive through our Beloved Minister that is without question, putting us, the Black man and woman of America, on top of civilization. I will, by Allah’s grace, use this experience as fuel to increase my efforts as a helper to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in his Mission of completing the Mission of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.”

Talib-Ul Hikmah Karriem, formerly Jason Karriem, director of Muhammad University of Islam in Chicago: “This journey to the Holy City, Mecca, Arabia, the birthplace of our Saviour Master Fard Muhammad and the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) has been the most unexpected blessing of a lifetime that still leaves me in awe and speechless. The magnitude and significance of this journey will unfold with time and deep reflection. Never could I imagine that I and we (the delegation) would be invited to perform Umrah in the Holy City, Mecca.

“Not only to perform this deeply spiritual and symbolic Islamic ritual during the sacred month of Ramadan, but also to make our circuits around the sacred Kaaba with Allah’s divine servant, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. The remainder of my life will forever be impacted by this spiritual journey. I am deeply grateful to Allah and his divine servant, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, for permitting me the honor and privilege to accompany this delegation of beautiful Believers. I am still struggling to wrap my head around this entire magnificent experience and often question Allah, ‘why me?’ There is nothing I can ever do to repay this tremendous honor, but I’ll try by my works, deeds and striving to be a better helper. I will never forget this. I am deeply humbled!

“Climbing Mount Nur (Mountain of Light) also known as Mount Hira, the place where the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) received the revelation of the Holy Qur’an was a spectacular experience. Climbing nearly 1,600 challenging steps to the top of this mountain tried my endurance and will, not to mention unexpectedly running into a pack of baboons on the way up the mountain (smile). After much struggle, arriving at the top to be blessed with a breathtaking view of Mecca and mountains as far as the eye can see was overwhelming. Also, knowing that the Holy Prophet stood on that ground. Although the pilgrims spoke various languages, their shouts of joy and their spirit on top of the mountain was well understood. I did not venture into the cave. It was packed with people trying to get into it and its position on the side of the mountain made that extra step a bit more risky.

“This journey and what I’ve experienced has expanded me, encouraged me and strengthened my faith. I have a greater appreciation for the birthplace of Master Fard Muhammad and an expanded appreciation of Prophet Muhammad. It has produced in me a greater sense of gratitude and love for people. It has inspired me to want to be a better servant and helper to grow our beautiful nation in the West to shine back on the East. This experience has made me to know that Allah is observing us and He knows just what we need. He has blessed me with a treasure that will continue to unfold over time as I grow into the understanding of the great significance of this journey. I cannot thank Allah enough for the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

“One powerful moment was when we were performing Umrah and we were at the stage of the ritual where we had to walk, run between the two hills as Hagar did. As we were coming to the last stretch, running, Student Supreme Captain Mustapha Farrakhan began to chant loudly our drill cadence, “Allah, Allah-U-Akbar … .” We all chimed in following his lead, running as a group with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan encircled by his helpers. It brought so much energy and spirit to that area that the pilgrims stopped in their tracks trying to figure out, who are these Muslims? It was like an announcement that we, the original owners of the earth and our home Mecca, we are back to claim our own.”

Nadir Al-Shifa Muhammad, formerly Thomas Muhammad, personal staff for Min. Farrakhan: “Frankly, putting my feet down on the same ground that Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Hin), Hagar, Abraham, Ishmael and the ancestors did is what meant the most. Also, to come back to the East as a Muslim, knowing our people were forcibly taken from the East and Islam, was significant to me. To be in Mecca with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and to spiritually carry with me the Fruit of Islam, the MGT (the women of the Nation of Islam), my family, my homies and those that wish they could have been here means alot to me. Lastly, through this trip I’ve realized how very intimately personal my relationship with Allah is. There is no God but Allah!”

God’s wrath manifesting through the forces of nature Deadly tornados, flooding continue pummeling parts of America
By Charlene Muhammad |

Deadly tornadoes, severe storms, and flooding ravaged America from coast to coast as proof of God’s divine judgment against America as outlined in scripture and as taught by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

America is being chastised for her atrocities against the Black descendants of slaves and the Indigenous people which the country has annihilated. America can atone and be saved, or suffer extreme calamities, including the fall of the dollar and weakness of her economy, Mr. Muhammad’s top student and National Representative, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, has also cautioned and instructed.

Watch the weather! Because God doesn’t fight with your cheap weapons! God fights with the forces of nature: rain, hail, snow, wind, drought. He uses the insects and the animals and turns nature against you. You can’t win in a war against God,” Minister Farrakhan has warned consistently.

America has not heeded his call. Now, the Great Mahdi Master Fard Muhammad and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, who back their servant and are controlling the weather, are chastising the country.

“At press time, many parts of the country were still reeling and recovering from the latest rounds of vicious weather.

The National Weather Service extended its flash flood warning after a levee broke in Northeastern Yell County, Central Arkansas. At press time, voluntary evacuations were highly recommended, particularly in Smiley Bayou near Highway 7, near Highways 155 and 154 to near the Petit Jean River. “The Arkansas River will continue to rise or remain high with major flooding expected at all forecast points. This includes water over roads, many acres of land, and engulfing some homes and businesses,” reported the May 31 flash flood warning.

Along with Arkansas, flooding from a levee breach along the Durgens Creek, which flows into the levee failures in Mississippi, forced some Missouri residents to flee their homes on May 30 and May 31, according to AccuWeather.

Specifically, AccuWeather said, the levee breach took place the evening of May 30 along the Durgens Creek in Lewis County, which flows into the Mississippi River. It moved quickly south into West Quincy, which has been evacuated. “Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life,” urged a National Weather Service St. Louis office flash flood warning.

The Weather Channel issued a May 30 thunderstorm watch for the Mid-Atlantic region, and between Detroit and Toledo a line of thunderstorms with gusty winds and lightning was feared.

The severe weather devastation started in late April. For 13 days, storms pummeled America. The Weather Channel categorized the stretch of tornadoes and severe weather as one of the most prolific in eight years. Prior to this, the most active, prolonged period of tornadoes occurred during the April 2011 “Super Outbreak,” the Weather Channel noted.

On May 27, Memorial Day the U.S. tied its current record of 11 consecutive days with at least eight tornadoes confirmed on each of those days, according to Patrick Marsh, warning coordination meteorologist for the federal Storm Prediction Center. The previous 11-day stretch of at least eight tornadoes per day ended on June 7, 1980.

At presstime, the Weather Service had received 934 tornado reports so far this year and more than 500 of those in the last 30 days. The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center indicated there were over 65 tornado reports listed, many from states like Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Indiana, as well as in northeastern Colorado and western Nebraska.

It has been very busy, the central part of the country, especially with enhanced rifts of severe weather, said Brian Hurley, senior meteorologist with the Weather Prediction Center, which is part of the National Weather Service in College Park, Md.

“Last year, we didn’t have much of a tornado season, if you will. The numbers of high-end tornadoes were very, very low last year, so one could say that that was unusual and compared to last year, we’re certainly seeing quite a bit of uptick than we did last year most certainly,” Mr. Hurley told The Final Call.

Over 20 inches of rain fell in one month in parts of the central area, particularly Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, he stated. “Speaking of what you’d normally expect, you’re talking about 400 percent of what they normally should be getting. So instead of maybe four or five inches or so, they’re getting over 20.”

In the Southeast, said Mr. Hurley, the byproduct has been hot and dry weather with record-breaking triple digit numbers.

Also, on the May 27 holiday, the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management declared a state of emergency for all 77 counties due to flooding, severe storms, tornadoes, and straight-line winds, winds that come out of thunderstorms, that began in April.

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, area hospitals reported 118 injuries. The Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner reported six deaths due to flooding and severe weather. There were over 7,000 gas meter and 6,300 power outages statewide, indicated the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. And the Oklahoma Department of Transportation reported numerous highway and road closures due to massive flooding.

Melvin Delhanna, 81, died when a storm pushed a vehicle into his home, reported Celina, Ohio, Mayor Jeffrey Hazel. Twelve persons were injured, and 40 homes destroyed when a tornado with wind speeds of 136-165 miles per hour struck Dayton, Ohio, and surrounding areas early May 28. Later that day, according to AccuWeather, the National Weather Service confirmed tornado wind damage in Beavercreek, about 10 miles east of Dayton. Its winds were at 140 mph. The day before, a tornado struck near Miami County, Ohio.

Homes were severely damaged and a church just north of Dayton was destroyed. Damages included destroyed water plants and pump stations. Sixty-thousand people were without water. A boil water advisory was still in effect in some areas. A store on Salem Avenue allegedly sold cases of bottled water for $11.99, a user identified as #Love_Kemayah posted on Twitter.

AccuWeather reported a youth group of about 25 and staff rode out the storm in church bathrooms, the only part of the church that wasn’t destroyed. One survivor said the tornado sounded like a jet engine. Another stated, “That’s how I know God’s real,” AccuWeather reported.

In his groundbreaking book, “The Fall of America,” published in 1973, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad declared that the four great judgments that Almighty Allah (God) is bringing upon America are rain, hail, snow and earthquakes.

“All around the Southern Border of America, storms are raging. There are tornadoes and heavy rains and more storms are on the way—one right after another. And in the North and Far West and in the East, America is surrounded with the judgments of Allah (God). There are earthquakes and the sea is raging. The Pacific Ocean is now angry and is raging and tossing up great waves as never before,” wrote the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

“Why should these things hit America? The Revelations teach you why. It is because America is filled with devils and has such unclean persons living in America. That is true under the symbolism of a hateful bird. Every filthy, slimy, wicked person comes here for a haven, where he can do any wickedness he wants to do—the country is open and welcomes that type of person,” he continued.

During his February 17, 2019 Saviours’ Day address, themed, “A Saviour Is Born For the Whole of Humanity: No One Need Perish,” Minister Farrakhan warned further, “I don’t know what the hell you all were planning in Chicago for your brother but Allah sent a cold wind after your behind. Chicago was colder than the North Pole! It was warmer at the Arctic Circle than it was in Chicago. You saw a cat trying to move, and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, ‘God has frozen his enemies and killed them with a cold wind.’ You’re finished today, Satan. You have no power against the God and the Jesus Christ that I represent.

“That’s why I can tell you: Watch the weather. And as fast as I get it out my mouth, He answers. I’m not ashamed to tell you that I am connected to Jesus Christ,” said Minister Farrakhan.

Both the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Minister Farrakhan have also warned of the need for disaster preparedness—storing up food, water, supplies and other necessities—for such times as these.

AccuWeather reported May 30 nearly 30 tornadoes were reported from Texas to Iowa. Patricia Mancha, deputy director for the Office of External Affairs at FEMA Region 6, which oversees federal emergency management for the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, and 68 federally recognized tribal nations, said the agency is still working on providing recovery aid to victims of Hurricane Harvey which struck Texas two years ago. “It seems like only yesterday,” she said.

“We recommend that people listen to their local emergency management officials. Everybody talks about ‘Where’s FEMA? Where’s FEMA?’ but we only come in once we’re requested to do so by the governor and the president approves it,” she explained. “The real emergency managers that have visibility on the ground are your local fire departments, your police department, your state police, so it’s important that people be aware of what’s going on in their community … to use the tools at their disposal like social media, television, radio, even applications” for weather alerts, she continued.

The severe storms came approximately three months after Minister Farrakhan reiterated that the God he serves will use the weather, including snow and ice as a weapon in a day of war against the wicked. Nationwide, between May 23-29, 45 National Weather Service forecast offices issued a combined 423 tornado warnings for portions of 27 states.

God’s divine judgment comes also because the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Minister Farrakhan are the modern-day Moses and Aaron and were both given authority by Allah (God) to deliver the good news and warning to America and her people. However, because both were rejected and persecuted, the consequences of America’s rejection and persecution is being manifested through the forces of nature with increasingly destructive intensity, said Student Minister Abdul Haleem Muhammad, Southwest Regional representative of the Nation of Islam, who is also an urban planner based in Houston.

“America’s nationalistic arrogance and partisan politics has prevented the ongoing upgrading and maintenance of the nation’s infrastructure, thereby rendering people and property vulnerable to ‘ordinary’ weather phenomenon. The infrastructure’s lack of resilience, along with the vulnerability of the people and property, is amplified by an incalculable magnitude by the awesome power of Allah,” he said.
